Yesterday Eric was cleaning the van and Ky was out helping him. Ky went next door to the neighbors house to play with her little's and talk to their mom. I came outside and saw Ky over there and waved to the neighbor who walked over and said HE IS SO SMART! I said ummm thank you! She said he was saying words even she has trouble saying and she asked him where he went to school..he tells her he is homeschooled. She asked me what curriculum we use...and was shocked to hear that we don't use any certain one but just a variety of things (that is after all what unschooling is about..or at least our Unschool!). I told her he really is a sponge...he just takes it all in and REMEMBERS everything! I guess that could be good and bad! It sure was nice hearing that others think he is a smarty too though.

Dinosaur journal
Ky is making his very own dinosaur journal. This was all his idea and it is coming along nicely. He is having us write what the dino is and what it does but all the pictures and what we write is from his little noodle! He amazes me so much...just 6 and already making a journal...and the thought was his alone!
I will have to post pics of it later....it really is cute.

1st grade level!!
My little guy is on a 1st grade level for everything except reading. He can read and spell words but we are still working on it. Counting to 100...done! Adding and Subtracting...easy peasy! Science...the kid is probably on a 4th grade level! Where he gets it from is beyond me...I honestly don't know how I ended up with such a smart kid. I was a slacker in school, even was held back in 1st grade...then you see Ky and all that he does and his JOY for learning and it just amazes me. This child is truly my little miracle.

Strawberries
We went pickin' strawberries yesterday and had lots of fun!
It was a nice drive...kinda hot but we had a breeze so not horrible (and for those who live in Texas you KNOW what a breeze can do)
It was a great way for the kids to get down and dirty with daddy...and I even managed to get some local honey!!
